For this career day I went to San Marcos Elementary and shadow a first grade teacher. It was something new and nice to see because I want to go into the area of teaching. It was different then I though it was going to be because they do a lot of small group work. Something that I saw was that the groups were divide by there level of learning. Some questions that I got to ask where how long has Mr. Vogel been teaching which has been for three years now but before that she was a sub-teaching for fourth and third grade. A specific skill that helped her prepare her for this job was sub-teaching. It gave her a idea of how teaching is. Interacting with other teacher is something they do at least two times a week but while the student are in p.e. she goes into another classroom and talks to the teacher to make sure they're getting them ready for 2nd grade. What makes her go into work everyday is that it's fun and her students but also that everyday is something different. They do, do project about learning about each other an animals. They are not there yet where they want to be with project base learning but they are getting there.
